It's one thing to use games to get learners thinking about a new concept or idea, but another to get learners feeling emotions as they learn. For the course Crisis Decision Making for Nuclear Leaders, our team created a game simulating three crisis scenarios at a fictional nuclear power plant, using many game components and mechanics to evoke stress. In this session, we'll look at, and play, games that get our emotions up. We'll analyze the game components that evoke emotions effectively and talk about when and how to use them.
